This year...

Well it's been forever since I've blogged and Jake kept asking me to so I decided I'd put up some pictures from this year.
It's been so nice having Jake home! They've been gone a lot but at least it's only for a couple weeks at a time. He left today for a couple weeks and (fingers crossed) this should be his last underway in the navy!

His tiny work office

I'm impressed at how organized he is.

This is really gross to tell (I promise we are not dirty) but one day I walked in the kitchen and there was a lizard on the floor! It totally grossed me out and we don't know where it came from. Luckily Jake was home to take care of the problem. Now I can't walk in our kitchen without examining the floor before I walk in.

I flew home at the first of the month in March for 10 days cus I had spring break and Jake was gone with the ship. It was so fun to be home and see everyone. We went to Rexburg one day and I got to watch Ashton play basketball. He was really fun to watch. He's such a cute kid.

The time at home went by way to fast but I'm so glad I got to go.

Jake was gone for our anniversary (again- yay for next year when the navy won't keep him away) so when he got back we celebrated it. I can't believe we've been married 2 years!
We woke up and he blindfolded me and wouldn't tell him where we were going. Even though I couldn't see where we were I still knew exactly where we were at at all times and I would name off the streets we were on which I think was making him kinda mad. He took me down to the ocean front and realized there were thousands of people there running the shamrock marathon.
We were driving down the main road right next to the boardwalk (luckily I had taken my blindfold off at this point) and he got pulled over by a cop on a bike! They were trying to block off the road for the marathon so they were just telling him that he needed to get on another road. While we were waiting for that cop to move some dividers so we could get off the street 2 more cops on bikes pulled up and informed him that he needed to get off the street. It was pretty funny to see him get pulled over by bike cops- especially since he makes fun of them all the time!

We drove to a beach on a base and it was so nice cus there was no one there. I'm going to miss being able to go to the beach when we move.

We went to a really lame trampoline place that afternoon and then we went to P.F. Changs for dinner.

Our first Valentine's Day together

My hair is starting to get long. It's so thin and stringy
looking so I don't know how long it will last...

On Sunday we went on a walk. It was so nice out.

We then drove to look at the apartments that were destroyed in the jet crash here in Virginia Beach on friday. These apartments are right across the street from the apartments we used to live in!
I can't believe that nobody was hurt or killed.

Jake's last day of work is June 6th and then he will be done with the navy! I'm so proud of him for being able to survive through these last 4 years. I know he hates it but he is SO good about not complaining and just doing what he needs to do.
I finish this semester of school in 2 weeks and I am so sad. It has been such a good semester. I've enjoyed most of my classes and it's been fun making new friends and being in the same classes as them. I love the school I'm going to and I'm so sad that it's the last semester I will be able to attend here.

  1. Chelsey I miss you guys! I was worried that those apartments were where you guys lived. When I heard I was freaked but I figured that you were safe since i hadn't heard differently. I hope these next few months fly by quickly for you! Love you

  2. It's fun to see what you guys have been up to! I'm glad Jake was there to take care of your lizard friend. When we moved from California I would dream about being at the beach. I miss the ocean! I hope these next 2 months go by quickly for you guys!
