New York

Jake surprised me and took me to New York for the weekend. We've been wanting to go for so long but haven't had time so it was exciting to finally get to go. We left on Friday (April 22) and came back Monday (April 25th). We stayed in Staten Island (30 minutes from the city) and we didn't get there til Friday night so we didn't do anything til Saturday.
The first thing we did was a session at the Manhattan Temple. It was so pretty and cool to go to. It's crazy cus it blends in with all the other buildings. It's amazing how quiet it is inside being in the noisy city.
We walked so much on Saturday. We walked from the Temple to Time Square. Then we went to the empire state building and walked to ground zero. We rode the subway back to Time Square cus we were so tired. I seriously think we walked over 10 miles! We also walked through Central Park. We were so tired at the end of the day but it was fun!
It was raining when we first got there so there weren't a whole lot of people but later that afternoon it was nice and there were a ton of people!

We ate so much pizza and hotdogs! They were good though

At Time Square
They were filming some movie in Time Square. Someone said they saw Samuel L. Jackson. We couldn't see anything though.

Empire State Building
World Trade Center tower they are building

Getting ready to get on the subway.

Time Square was packed later in the afternoon when the sun came out!

The weather was so much better on Sunday. It was in the 70's and the sun was out. (I actually got a sunburn haha). Today we walked just as much, maybe even more, than yesterday. We were so sore and tired by the end of the day. (I think we need to start working out and not spending so much time on the couch eating and watching TV...)
Some famous ESPN commentator

Chinatown-
Ok Chinatown was just how I had heard it was going to be. A little chinese lady came up to us and asked us if we wanted a purse. I did so she had us walk behind her and follow her. She kept motioning to her spys looking around as we were walking. She took us in a scary building and we walked up like 3 flights of stairs. She opened this big gate and led us into a little room full of purses then they shut us in the room. It was pretty funny. I think Jake was scared. I didn't end up getting anything cus I didn't see anything I really liked and they weren't willing to take less than the 70 bucks they wanted for the purses. I don't think they were very happy when we left with nothing.

We walked to see the Statue of Liberty
In Time Square

The Rockefeller Center was really cool. We wanted to go when they were doing a show...

On Monday before we headed home we stopped at Carlo's Bake Shop (from Cake Boss). We really wanted to go in but there was a huge line! It was a 2+ hour wait so we just looked in and decided it wasn't worth the wait.
Instead, we went to a bakery down the street and got cupcakes. They were pretty good.
Our trip went by way too fast. We had so much fun though! Thank you Jake for taking me!
