DC Trip Part 1

We left for DC on Friday, September 3 and came home on Tuesday, September 7. It was so nice to get away for a couple days and just get to spend time together. I was amazed at how much Jake knew about everything! It was nice having him explain everything to me.

Lincoln Memorial- it's huge! It was really cool though

The Washington Monument and the Reflection pool. I always thought they were a lot closer to each other but they are actually kind of far apart.

Korean Monument

World War II Monument. This was one of my favorite ones. It was really pretty and I have always loved learning about WWII.

I'm not sure what this one is called...

Washington Monument

We went to the Smithsonian Museum of American History. It was huge! It took us like 3 hours to go through. It was really cool though.

This is the flag that hung at Fort McHenry and inspired Francis Scott Key to write the National Anthem.

Jake pretending to be asleep

I used to be obsessed with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles so I really liked this exhibit.

I have a pair of red shoes that Jake HATES! Everytime I wear them he tells me they are going to "disappear" someday. So of course I had to get a picture with Dorthy's red shoes.

Capitol Building

On Saturday we went to the Washington DC temple. It was so pretty and we were so happy we got to go! We wish we had a temple a little closer to us...

There were so many trees around the temple. It's so pretty.

(Im splitting these up in 2 posts since there are so many pictures)
